The Joss Stone Foundation
Joss Visited a refugee camp in Libya for people who have been displaced by ongoing political and geographical turmoil. The camp leader explained to Joss, via a translator, that he would like to learn English so he can communicate effectively on behalf of the refugee community to the UN and various NGO organisations. We are working on sending a locally based English teacher to fulfil this request and have also specified that a woman must be included in the class so that she can effectively represent and communicate the women and family issues which may differ from other camp members. The camp leader, Hussein, was very happy with this suggestion and we hope to start running a small, focused English language course very soon.
