TOTAL WORLD TOUR

Back on the road now… Couldn’t have asked for a better start! We played our first gig of this leg of the tour at the Teatro Sucre in the heart of Quito. What a lovely warm crowd. Thank you so much to everyone who came. It was the first time we have played so many new songs from the upcoming record and I was very nervous.
Luckily everyone was very kind and listened and danced. The best kind of feedback I could ever ask for. This is why I make music after all - it is for all of you. So, of course, I care deeply that everyone enjoys it. My hands were shaking after the gig I was so exhilarated and myself and the band were in very high spirits back in the dressing room.
It was a shame we had to leave at 5 am the next morning or we would have been celebrating all night. So now we are in Lima, Peru. I have just arrived and am excited to go out into the city and see what it is like.
Here are the pics from our charity visit in Ecuador. We travelled to the outskirts of Quito to visit a charity called UBELONG (you belong). We met a chap called Cedric who started this charity in 2008. I asked him why he started the charity in the first place and his brilliant answer was “well, I just kinda got in to the whole saving the world thing and thought why not?”.
This is exactly the attitude I love in people… Why not? Its a beautiful thing to do. Young people go to school everyday wanting very much to learn and more often than not the education system in lacking in so many parts of our world, so Cedric decided to set up an after school program to help these young people learn English, maths and environmental studies amongst other things.
Cedric and his extensive team of volunteers are providing further education for these young people free of charge. UBLONG is now present in 5 of the 7 continents (of which one is just ice by the way) The countries include Cambodia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Ghana, India, Laos, Mexico, Morrocco, Peru and Vietnam.
UBLONG is funded by the volunteers as well as donations. So not only do these volunteers give up there time to help, they pay for the privilege. Which again is wonderful and goes to show that there are a lot of good people in this world. If you want to learn more about it or even volunteer your self, (which you can do for as little as 1 week up to 6 months) then check out this site… www.ubelong.org
